Vivid gallery presents from the 14th of February to the 5th of April “New directions in design”, an exhibition of Tomáš Libertiny and Nacho Carbonell.

DesignHuis presented the One man chair, from the Evolution collection, at Object Rotterdam “the platform in the world, where you can find the latest developments of unique, or limited edition functional objects of international designers”(source: Object Rotterdam).

A “Por las ramas” presentation is currently on display at the RheinTriadem in Cologne until the 25th of January. It will take part of the Designers Fair 2009 organized by Reinhild Kuhn. The exhibition will move on afterwards to Dortmund, from the 13th of February to the 1st of March.

Nacho has been nominated to the 2009 Designer of the Future award by the Design Miami fair.

The Lover’s Chair, from Nacho’s Evolution collection, has been nominated to the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year by the Design Museum.

During the Dutch Design Week, Atelier Dorp opened the doors of El Porron. On friday 24th we had a party with three paellas cooked by Nacho, a jazz band and dj Taka Honda. Check back to not miss our next event.

Vitra organizes yearly workshops were designers learn different techniques. This year Nacho practiced his glass skills and came up with some interesting objects currently in development.

Nacho has been invited to participate in the Architectural Biennale in Venice, September 2008 by Droog. The exhibition will be called Singletown. In Droog’s words, “it will be a unique event focusing on the world of contemporary singles. Its relevance is broad, as all of us are likely to belong to this group at some stage- and more than once. In fact, some sources predict that a third of people in developed countries will be living alone by 2026″. Our Pump it up will be there.

Two animals will guard Maxit Group’s newly restored building in Eindhoven. The place will hold meetings and visits of clients in order, in between others, to explain the diverse applications of concrete. Nacho’s ongoing reasearch in concrete has allowed him to develop these concrete animals as well as his Soft Concrete sofa, both sponsored by Maxit, (www.maxit-group.com).

Woonbedrijf has inaugurated together with AtelierDorp the prototype home of what will be a series of 15 houses designed by Paloma Castaño, Djim Berger, Veronique Lorne and Nacho. You can visit our new concrete giraffe at Menno van Coehoornlaan in Eindhoven from the 15th onwards.
